Hummous

This week for Sunday Funday we had a Lebanese themed meal.  We also had our first guest cook!  My mother-in-law, Karen is part Lebanese and made the Hummous for today’s meal! 

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 15-19 ounce can of chick peas
  • 1/4 cup of fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons of Tahini
  • 1/8 teaspoon of salt
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 2-4 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
  • 2-3 tablespoons of fresh chopped parsley

Drain half of the liquid in the chick peas.

In a blender or food processor, place all the ingredients and blend to a puréed consistency.  

Pour hummous into bowl.  Drizzle 2-4 tablespoons of olive oil and sprinkle with parsley.

You can adjust this recipe to meet your personal taste.  For example, you can use more cloves of garlic if you like.
